Health and Safety Secure is committed to protecting any personal data it processes. This is information that relates to living individuals. Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’) when you provide personal data to us (‘your personal information’) and when we make use of it, we are known as a ‘Data Controller’.
This Notice sets out what we do with the personal information that we collect from you, who we might share it with, how long we keep it for, your rights etc.

Personal information we may collect from you, what we do with it and our legal basis to do so.
When you complete the contact form on our site [this may be for you or a company you work for] we will usually only collect your name, email, telephone number and details of your message to us. We collect this to be able to respond to enquiries you make of us. We do this with your consent that you provide to us by submitting your enquiry.
We also process your personal information to make a record in our CRM of someone (or someone employed by a company) who might be interested in our services. We do this in our legitimate interests –the potential formation of a business relationship.
We also collect your personal information in order to market our services to you or to send you our newsletter. We do this either in our legitimate business (generation) interests or (if you are a sole trader or member of a traditional partnership) with your consent. You provide consent by ticking the box on our website.
Where we process your personal information with your consent you have the right to withdraw consent at any time.
Disclosure of your personal information
We operate a CRM via the Popcorn platform. Some of your personal information may be stored in this platform. The information is stored securely in Eire.
We may also disclose your personal information to third parties:
– in the event that we sell or buy any business (including ours) or assets, in which case we may disclose it to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
– to protect the rights, property, or safety of Health and Safety Secure, our customers, or others.
We share the personal information for the purposes set out above in either the legitimate business interests of us or the other organisations.
– if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal information in order to comply with any legal obligation.
How long we keep your personal information for
If your enquiry leads to the commissioning of a service with us by you or the company, you work for then we will usually keep personal information for up to 7 years after the service is supplied. If you or your company do not place an order, then we will store your personal information in our CRM and also keep it for marketing purposes. It is not possible to be definitive as to how long we will keep your personal information, but it will never be longer than necessary.
Your rights
The GDPR gives you the right to:
- receive a copy of your personal information and other supplementary information
- have us rectify any inaccurate personal information we hold about you
- have us erase your personal information
- restrict or object to what we do with your personal information when we process under our legitimate interests or those of a third party
Please note that these rights are not absolute. The GDPR sets out the basis upon you can seek to exercise a right. If we ever decline your request either in part or completely, we will tell you why. If you wish to exercise a right, please contact us.
